The Illustrator

Dr. Levasseur has successfully combined his scientific practice with his lifelong passion: drawing. Fascinated by visual representation from an early age, he found in illustration a powerful way to explain and communicate complex concepts.

His first works took the form of a human anatomy atlas designed for students, driven by the desire to simplify the learning process of sometimes challenging concepts. More recently, he illustrated the book Post-Mortem Radiology: Manual for Interpreting Post-Mortem CT Scans, a 500-page guide aimed at supporting physicians and medical students in their practice and education.

Dr. Levasseur’s academic journey began in Paris with dual training in forensic medicine and criminalistics, as well as medical biology. His interests extended to molecular medicine, genetics, toxicology, and pharmacology. Now based in Switzerland for several years, he continues to deepen his expertise in forensic sciences while leveraging his artistic skills to serve the scientific community. He creates illustrations for articles, medical posters, and graphical abstracts, contributing to advancing medical and scientific communication.

"Art should never merely illustrate a truth already known; it should bring forth questions that have yet to be realized."
Alain Robbe-Grillet
